How do I search for sounds on Redefined Sound?

Searching for sounds on Redefined Sound is simple. Go to the homepage and simply type into the big pink search box.

I want to make my search more precise, how do I do this?

Once you've entered your search terms, you may want to narrow down the sounds. To do this, you can use the Advanced Search Filtering system to the right of the displayed results. Here you can refine your search by Category, Genre, Mood, Tempo, Instrument, Duration and Track Details.

What are Beds, MicroBeds, SFX etc?

Here's a quick guide to the Categories available to download from Redefined Sound.

Beds - typically 30 seconds or longer in duration. Perfect for promos and background music.

MicroBeds - typically shorter than Beds - 25 seconds or less. Ideal for Sponsor Credits and Idents.

SFX & FX - SFX are real sounds - Cars, Birds, Rain etc. FX are digitally composed sounds - Impacts, Hits, Stings etc.

Drones - fantastic for adding tension or atmosphere to any production.

Voice - one of the great features on Redefined Sound is the Voice Category. Here you will find a voice that will work well with your search term.

I've found the sound(s) I want, how do I download them?

To download any sound from Redefined Sound you must first of all register. It super quick and you'll be downloading in no time. Once registered and approved, you can download and even save sounds for later use.

I've found the sound(s) I want, but I'm not ready to download?

As above, once registered and approved you can not only download sounds from Redefined Sound, but you can also save them for future projects in your SoundBox.

What are SoundBoxes?

SoundBoxes are designed to save you time and allow you to share the sounds for your next project. Think of them as a shopping basket. You find a sound you like so pop it into your SoundBox. Once you've finished "shopping" you can download the sounds for use.

Can I send my search results on to a friend, colleague or client?

One of the great features with SoundBoxes is that ability to send your sounds to a friend or colleague before downloading them. Great for a second opinion or a client who wants to approve before production begins. Simply enter their email address along with a message and a link will be sent to them to preview all the sounds you've picked out.

Why do I have to register to Redefined Sound?

The simple answer - it's so we can keep track of our lovely sounds. We want to make sure they're in safe hands and aren't being used incorrectly - see our Terms & Conditions for full details. The good news, it's fast, simple and free to register.

What is ACS? (Automatic Cue Sheets?)

ACS is a great feature built into Redefined Sound that's free and saves you time. Once you've downloaded the sounds, you're automatically sent an email with the composer details that you need to submit in your CueSheet or PRS return. Gone are the days of you trying to remember composer and publisher details for that promo!

I can't download any sound(s), why?

Once you've registered to Redefined Sound AND received the Approved Email you should be able to download sounds. If you're still experiencing difficulties, please email info@redefinedsound.com or get in touch via the Contact Page.

I've lost my log-in details, help!

Fear not! Please go to the home page and log-in as usual. At the bottom of the log-in screen is a "Forgot Password" link. Click here and enter the email address linked to your Redefined Sound account and a new password will be sent to you in no time.
